Hello!

I thought it would be easier to make a blog post filled with rambly prompts and ideas rather than try and cram things into a Google form. If you're my creator this year, please have fun, I'm sure I'll love anything at all you make for me :3 but if you do want some ideas, here's some prompts!

(My big big list of likes/dnws etc are here: https://souljelly.dreamwidth.org/2115.html but that has become such an intimidating wall of text that I am making this separate blog post. Feel free to draw from both as much or as little as you like.) Some prompts and thoughts below, if you don't want to delve into the big blog post!

Gen-style adventures with any of the cast: Shipping is fun but I also loooove friendship fics. Give me any dynamic! Yumi&Jeremie, Yumi&Aelita, Odd&Ulrich, etc etc. Or anything about the group all together, or a trio. How about a XANA attack we haven't seen in the show and an episode showing how they deal with it - who stays on Earth and who goes to Lyoko, does anyone not in on the secret help them out?

Kadic staff: My fave thing to explore at the moment. I'd love to see anything with Jim, Suzanne, Jean-Pierre, Franz etc. and what their lives look like. What do they think about their students?

Shipping-wise I like rarepairs and slash/femmeslash. Some pairings I like: Jeremie/Ulrich, Odd/Ulrich, Odd/Jeremie, Yumi/Sissi, Yumi/Aelita, Milly/Tamiya, Odd/William. If you have an unusual or random pairing idea and want to sell it to me, I'd love to see it!

I like future fics, either AUs were they're still fighting XANA as adults and how that complicates things in their interpersonal relationships, future fics where XANA is gone and they're dealing with the aftermath, misadventures in university, jobs, travels etc.

Outsider POV! Stories where we see the weirdness of XANA, RTTPs etc from the point of view of someone who isn't in on the secret. I find it so fascinating how strange the Lyoko warriors must seem to everyone else, especially when they're using their knowledge of the future to act differently after a return in time.

Again no pressure to follow these prompts. If there's a story you want to write, now is the time!

comments

Now that reveals are open I can say that I wrote these gifts:

Love, And Its Interference With The Nature Of Reality
Good Omens; Warlock Dowling/Adam Young
Notes: Get-together fic, first dates, etc. Warlock is seeing a bunch of weird signs from the universe to do with a certain cute British guy. My recipient @scorpoid left some great prompts about these two, including 'reality warping' and this gift came out of those. I had so much fun writing it.

Agreements Made In The Communal Smoking Area Are Not Legally Binding
Good Omens; Michael/Beelzebub
Notes: Between Adam/Warlock and these two, I came out with brand new ships this holiday season which is a wonderful gift in itself. The snark and animosity in this pairing is so much fun to write and I'm excited to read/write more of them in the future. This was for @anticyclone who was so helpful in beta-reading my Adam/Warlock fic above, I just had to treat them.

The Interplay of Illusion and Magic
Good Omens; Aziraphale/Crowley, Aziraphale-centric
Notes: So I ended up writing historical RPF about John Maskelyne and the history of British stage magic. I'm now basically obsessed with stage magic so expect a post soon about all the research I did for this one. Plotty, canon-compliant missing scenes are one of my favourite things to write so I'm delighted that the opportunity arose for this. Thanks to @we-protect-each-other for prompting 'shenanigans through history'.

I had so much fun and Good Omens is the new fandom of my heart for the opportunity to write things with silly, dork, Jelly-brand whimsical humour. :D

comments

Halloween is my favourite time of year and I've had a really good one! Got to do three different Halloween looks (due to working all Halloween weekend - every day a new lot of facepaint!) and I also got some wonderful gifts for @trickortreatex and @shipoween. Author reveals are tomorrow and I'm excited to see who wrote for me so I can go read the rest of their stuff. My recips seemed to really enjoy their gifts as well, so I'm happy.

Gifts for me!

spinning on that dizzy edge
Good Omens, Aziraphale/Crowley
Lovely smutty, romantic first time fic. I appreciate that the anon author read my letter and filled this fic with tons of little things I mentioned that I liked. They have really nice voices for Aziraphale and Crowley, particularly their cheeky, pillow-principality-vibes Aziraphale :D

Halloween Festive
Good Omens, Aziraphale/Crowley
I am almost certain this by the same writer as my Shipoween fic but I can't be sure until reveals! I can't believe I got two lots of Az/Crow fluff. This is a snapshot of them being domestic and decorating their cottage for Halloween. It's tooth-rottingly sweet in the best way. I feel like I've been given an entire bucket of Halloween sweets.

A Meeting Long Overdue
Dragon Ball, ChiChi & Piccolo
I got fic for one of my forever-fandoms!! /squees/ One of the things in my letter was 'characters interacting who don't get to in canon' and this wonderful anon writer gifted me with 2,000 words of ChiChi character development and her complicated animosity towards Piccolo. Genuinely this fic is so close to my heart, I am so completely delighted with it. I love ChiChi and I'm always here for more fic about her.

Halloween on the Holodeck
Star Trek TNG, Data, Enterprise Crew
This one attracted ire on meme for the SPAG issues but as far as I could see, this writer didn't have to write me 2k words of treat!fic featuring all of the TNG characters I love, and I'm not about to be a wanker about it. This was really funny and heartfelt, with some great choices of Halloween aesthetic from all of the characters involved.

I'll probably just stick to either ToT or Shipoween next year since I wrote longfic for both and really burned myself out. I'm swerving Yuletide so I can focus on writing treats and I have a gift to write for my Code: Secret Santa recipient too - can't wait to get my assignment!

I hope everyone had a good Halloween!

comments

Hello! Since most of my fandom involvement these days is fic exchanges and fests, I've decided to make a big masterpost of things that might be relevant to someone looking to write something for me. I've tried hard to make this accessible via a handy contents list and neatly organised searchable terms. Use Ctrl+F to search via the headings below.

I hope it helps, and to whoever's creating for me something now or in the future, please have lots of fun with it and don't feel too pressured, this is all just a guideline, if you have an idea you want to execute then go for it. I've received all manner of wonderful gifts over the years and I like so many things.

You can also find me on tumblr as souljellied and ao3 as souljelly, if either of those are helpful. The kinds of things I write are a strong indication of what I like to read and see in art etc. Finally, please HAVE FUN and a huge thanks for making something for me.

Here we go!
(P.S. I love treats. Treats will always be welcome. <3)
( i spent an embarrassingly long time on this )

comments
